Back in Business…

I hope that you back in Sweden saw the Triathlon in Stockholm, or at least on TV!?

I didnt miss it and i must say that im impressed by the american Gwen Jorgensen who won the female race. She did 31´41 on the last 10km, Thats world class running. On top of that she ran faster than 19 elite men!!! IMPRESSIVE. Well done Gwen Jorgensen

Check out the summary from the race in below link.

The males race was all about Alistaire Brownlee, what an athlete. The most complete and amazing athlete the Triathlon world will ever see.

After a week without being able to run im finally back!

The problem in the back was solved by a brutal massage 😉 i call it that as i cried during the session, but it gave results. The pain is gone and i can run again, Thank God!

Today we did a hard brick (bike + run) with series on the bike and the run.

Was feeling well on the bike, but not that well on the run. I guess it will take some days before i get back to my good old running feeling.

Now its just missing 3 weeks to the world champs…

“God only gives you what you can handle”…a mental challenge

Does he?! i don’t know… one dear family member once told me so, but sometimes i just think that he is being unfair…or should i learn something from all of this. Dont quite know the point yet, but ill get there.

At this moment i wish he could be a bit nicer and tell me ” Katarina, you have been working hard, so ill support you on this one” 😉 but noooooooo…..its simply not that simple.

I have one big objective for this season, the world champs in London. During many workouts, where i have suffered i have kept my mind steady on my objective and i have been working hard to arrive in London in best possible shape. I assume that we can put up as many objectives as we want, but we can never know how our body will accept these objectives or if it will allow us to go for them….can we?!

In the beginning of the season, after working hard all winter by knee got injured and i did a knee surgery. The surgery was very successful and i have had a very good season so far. I can not complain about that.

I have never been so fit or fast as i was when i left St.Andre, but my body decided to stop cooperating. During my last vacation day i got some kind of infection in my body and im taking medication for that, so it should pass pretty soon. This doesnt worry me that much.

What worries me is a pain that has started to appear when running. The pain is located on the chest and the back. At first i thought it was the heart or something else, but its not. I really dont know what it is and i dont know what to do. It doesnt hurt during the swim or bike, strange.

I would like to be this super calm person and just think that it will all turn out well, but thats not the case. I have been working hard to get where i am. I just dont think that i deserve this one and my mind is quite worried. How will this affect my performance in London????

There are people saying that rest is good and that you dont loose that much, but i think ill agree with Emma Graaf on this one.

Back to normal routines…

Vacation is over and today is my first day in the office…back to normal routines.

Its always hard to get back to work after vacation.

Its missing less than a month to the World Champs and the preparation is going very well. I have taken my bike and run to another level. Actually im running like never before 🙂 and the bike… yeah! the boys had a hard time keeping my paces on the series last week 😉

Now i just need to get the swimming back on track. I felt good during the open water races, but the workout after have been quite bad. But im sure that ill get there

A long run in St.Andre….18km

Vacation is being great! We are having the best time here in St.Andre 🙂

Training is going very well, especially the run and bike.

I have been really lucky this past week. Andre and Pedro (Sporting athlete) have been training with me. Its hard to train alone when you are used to train in a group.

Today we had a long run on the program, 1h20min…Andre checked out a nice course on google maps.

We didnt really manage to stick to the plan and got a bit lost in the woods, so we ended up doing a bit more… 1h40min (18km). We kept a nice and slow pace and the course was very beautiful, felt like i could go on running for hours….

André kept us company during the run (riding a bike) and made sure we got water and energy when needed, Thank you André

Tomorrow morning we are going to Algarve for some more racing. This weekend im just doing open water races.
