Back home in Portugal after spending one wonderful week in Sweden. Its always great to be close to family and friends.
Spent the first weekend in Stockholm where I attended Coach Ludde´s (Fredrik Lundin) swim training camp in Stockholm. Fredrik works as the elite coach at Polisens IF and is supporting Lisa Nordén when she is training in Sweden.
The camp was very nice. It was nice to compare how Swedish triathlete’s train. But I think the best part was to meet so many new triathletes, new friends. I hope to have many Swedish triathletes visiting me in 2014. We spoke about doing a training camp in Portugal during 2014, lets see.
However, the best part of the weekend was to spend time with family. Stayed at my brother’s place. He and his girlfriend treated me like a princess. Saturday night I was invited for a dinner at my godmother Eva´s place. She cooked a really nice meal and we had a really good time together.
Sunday we were off to Lidingö to celebrate grandma’s birthday. She seem to have recovered quite well from her stroke…
Hope to see her soon again.
Spent the rest of the week at mums and dads place in Malmö. No matter how old you get there is something special about going home to mum and dad. We had a really good time together.
Also got to spend some real nice time with my baby brother Jakob and my best friend Sofia.
Another 2 weeks of rest lies ahead of me, then its time to start to prepare season 2014 … cant wait.
I have a new Sponsor for 2014…
Today i received material from my new sponsor Spiuk Portugal. I received a really nice helmet and 2 matching pair of glasses. Just Love the color….
Read more about the brand and their products on the sites.
Thank you Spiuk Portugal!
It was a nice way to end this season with a 2nd place at the half marathon today 🙂
It was a very hard race. I was expecting the first 4km´s to be hard, but it wasnt just the first 4km´s.
The course was hardly flat and i was suffering a bit with the heat. Started way back in the filed and worked myself up to second place. Was feeling pretty good till 10km, but then i started to suffer quite a lot. There was even a time when i thought i was going to give up. But then i thought, come on Larsson, its yr last race of the season…lets do it.
I dont know if it was the heat or lack of energy, but at 15km i started to feel quite dizzy. There were 2 guys by my side that supported me till 19km. Their support was crucial…
The last km was pure suffering and all i wanted to do was to pass that finish line…and i eventually did 😀
It felt great with an overall podium to end this season.
Oh and by the way. It was Garett McNamara who pulled the trigger of the starting gun 🙂
Tomorrow ill do my last race of this season, a half Marathon in Nazare.
Nazare is a coast village located 125km north of Lisbon.
Nazare has actually been in the sport light on the world map lately. Why? The big wave rider (surf) Garett McNamara surfed the biggest wave in the world in Nazare. The wave he surfed was 30m…thats big!
Garett McNamara surfing big waves in Nazare…
Regarding the race. I have been focusing on the run for the past few weeks, so i should be in good shape.
What can be better on a Friday than getting a new pair of BONT Vaypor cycling shoes for next season 🙂
I have used BONT for a season now and they are really good. Its a shoe i truly recommend for cyclist and triathletes.
Cant wait to use them….
Thank you Lima & Limão Cycling Services for your support
André and i spent a wonderful weekend in St.André (Alentejo) with some friends (Maria and Henrique)
On the way down south André and i had a very nice lunch at a restaurant with typical food from Alentejo. The restaurant is located in Melides and is called Melindense.
Did some nice running session, last preparation for the half marathon next weekend. Was feeling quit tired after last weeks workout (did 8x1000m on the track wednesday)
We spend the days on the beach, playing KUBB and on sunday we did some surf.
The weather was lovely and the water was warm.
Couldn’t have had a better weekend. These weekends makes you realize why you have chosen to live in a lovely country like Portugal….simply wonderful!
