Had a wonderful birthday
At the airport race earlier this year i won a voucher, a weekend for two at a 5 star hotel & Spa in Vila Viçosa, Alentejo.
The hotel is called Alentejo Marmoris Hotel & Spa – www.alentejomarmoris.com (check it out)
André and i decided to spend my birthday here, great idea.
I have been to Vila Viçosa before as one of the races on the portuguese triathlon circuit takes place in this little town.
Its a very beautiful place and very calm, perfect escape from the daily life in Lisbon.
In the morning, after enjoying a nice hotel breakfast we went out for a run. I did the run course of the race and ran up to the small castle located in the middle of the town.
At lunch time we went to a cosy place that belongs to the local Sporting fans. Actually one of the local sporting fans remembered me from the triathlon race earlier this year 🙂 As an Sporting athlete i was treated like a princess and they even gave me a birthday present, a scarf from the local Sporting fan club.
During the afternoon we spent a few hours in the spa section and André offered me a real nice treatment, lovely.
Couldnt have had a better birthday…
I’m back In Portugal…Its good to be back in the sun.
Christmas was great, thanks mum and dad for always making it so special.
Grandma and I…
Santa Claus was very generous and I got some really nice gifts 😉
On the 25th I went for a run with Marie. Marie is an old friend I haven’t seen for almost 10 years. Marie is competing in bikini fitness and has become one of the best in Sweden.
She has a blog in Swedish and English: www.missmarymansson.se
She has made some nice posts about our run.
We ran in Hofterup, where Ii used to live before I moved to Portugal. It was great to be back and things looks just like they did 10 years ago…
We did a quite hard interval session. 6×1 Z5 (3´50 pace) and 3×6´ Z3 (4´20 pace), total time of 1h15min.
During the afternoon on the 25th we (the Larsson league) went to see the Swedish movie “Hundraåringen som klev ut genom fönstret och försvann”. It was good fun and we laughed a lot, you should definitely see it.
It’s my birthday tomorrow, so André and I are off to Alentejo to spend the weekend at a SPA, Nice!!!
Back in Sweden for Christmas.
Even if i consider Portugal as my home, there is something about being back in sweden over christmas. Its actually the only time during the year when all the family is gathered.
Spent the first days at my best friend Sofia´s place in Lund and we had the best time. She was treating me like a princess 🙂 Thank you Sofia!
Sofia and I
After the run session…
Sofia and I out running…
The swimming pool in Lund
Friday night my younger brother had a christmas party at this place. It was such a good time to meet up with old friends that i havent met for ages.
Now im in Malmö at my parents place. Mum always make sure that the Christmas spirit is on top! Love it…
Mum and Dad are supporting me on keeping my training regime. This morning we went to the local gym and did a swim and spinning (bike) session 🙂
Tomorrow im going for a run with an old friend that i havent seen for many years. Actually i have 2 run workouts tomorrow 😉 Lets see if i can get my brother to join me during the second session…
Its good to be back training and im slowly getting back to old routines. The first weeks after the rest are always hard and it takes some time for the body to adapt.
Well, this weekend wasnt about workouts, but christmas parties 🙂
This year i was a part of the Christmas party organization at work. Saturday morning we had a really nice party for the employees and their family.
At night André and I organized a swedish christmas party for close friends. It was a great success! The swedish christmas ham from IKEA was to my surprise really good…
Today at 6h30 i did my first workout after 3 weeks off.
Its time to start preparing next season.
Its great to be back 🙂 Im motivated!
I’m enjoying my “vacation” from training. I take take the opportunity to do things that i usually don’t have time for…luxury 😉
As an athlete you tend to get caught up in the training/racing mode and forget about the world around you.
The past season was good, but yet quite tough mentally.
I would call it a bit of a roller coaster season. Many good moments and some real hard ones.
Below are some picture from the weekend in St.Andre.
