Building the base

Training is going well, building up the base for the remaining part of the season. Despite feeling a bit tired after almost two week of hard workouts i can still feel that i can perform during my workouts. The hardest has been coming back to the swim workouts. We started off pretty hard with the swim and i noticed that i lost quite a lot of water sensibility during the weeks of vacation. As i consider swimming to be my biggest frustration in triathlon its always hard to get back.I’m trying not to stress too much about the fact that its not going as fast as i would like to.

The swim has been slow, but i have been feeling good during run and bike workouts. We are doing lots of base training on the run and bike which will be very beneficial for the remaining part of the season.

The only issue concerning me right now is a heartburn that I’m struggling with. I have had some on and off issues with my stomach for about a month now and the past week has been worse. I have got some quite strong heartburn that doesn’t seem to want to go away. I will start to apply a very strict diet and ill see the doctor next week, hopefully its nothing serious.



Back in business…

Vacation is over and I’m back in the office and training routines.

It’s amazing how fast yr body adapts to the “lazy” life style which includes lots of sleeping, good food, wine and relaxing on the beach.

I can’t remember last time i had vacation without needing to train hard. Last year i was preparing the AG World Championship, so my days were filled with workouts.

This year i could enjoy my vacation in a different way. Did a few bike workouts to stimulate the muscles and the rest of the time was spent on the beach.

It’s time to get back to my old routines, which basically means work and workouts. It’s missing two months of racing and then the season will be over.

The first workouts this week have been hard; my body is still in slow motion mode. I will have three quite hard weeks ahead of me preparing the race coming up on the 21st of September. Sporting’s female team is after the National title in Triathlon for teams. We have won the Portuguese Cup and the Aquathlon. It would be fantastic if we could get the National title in triathlon as well…

I hope that all of you living in Stockholm will go and see the WTS race that will take place on Saturday. Unfortunately Lisa Norden wont race due to another injury, but a friend of mine, Melanie Santos will make her debut in such a big event.

Amazing Italy…

We are back from five amazing days in Italy…

I got to see Milano, Pisa, Florence, Siena and walk between the villages in Cinque Terre.  All very different experiences, but i think the highlight was to walk the between the five villages, Cinque Terre. Its the most beautiful 12km i have ever walked. Its something i truly recommend, an experience of a life time.

Despite that i consider myself to be fit, it was hard to walk as the path was hardly flat. We started of at 1pm and reached the last village at 9pm. We stopped in each village for some ice cream and to take a swim in the warm water.










Before heading to Florence we stopped in Pisa….



Florence was amazing.

As Andre had done one year as exchange student in Florence he knew the city very well and was a perfect guide during our two days in Florence.






Our vacation continues and on Sunday we will head down south to Alentejo.
